Land  was Taken in the 1860s from many Maori Tribes . Two Leaders – tT Whiti o Rongomai and Tahu  Kakahi

Set up a Settlement for Maori we lost Their Land and Homes When The Government Wanted to Take This Land As Well They Protested In a Non Violent Way. They Wore The White Plume (Feather) To Represent Peace And People  Wear White Headband   To Remember Parihaka And To Show Love And Peace

Last week the year 6 went to camp Mangawhai beach.

We did heaps of fun games, I liked the food that Ben made. I went kayaking with my friends and I liked paddle boating.

I liked it when I fell into the fresh water. I didn’t like it when my hands were sore when I was paddling. My kayak was purple. I learnt how to paddle. I was excited when I slid down the cold long water slide. We had a race with our kayak and people had turns with the paddle boats.

Swimming

My class go siwmming on Thursday in our school pool, the kids like the pool, it is fun.

The pool was cold and my feet was freezing. I play in the pool with my friends in the water.

My friends splashed me with the water in pool. I. learn how to swim on my back the pool was big
